Naast hun top-big band MYJO One, waarover deze site melding
maakt, spelen en repeteren er in hun thuishaven,
"the MAC" (Midland Art Centre) in Birmingham nog twee orkesten
( MYJO TOO en MYJO THREE)Je kan je alleen alleen bij een van de MYJO-orkesten aansluiten,
na auditie te hebben gedaan. Dat kan al vanaf 8-jarige leeftijd.
(zie ook elders, of op de officiele MYJO site www.myjo.co.uk )MYJO is heel bijzonder omdat het een maximum leeftijdsgrens
kent van 25 jr, toch is de band al 18 jaar ongeslagen winnaar
van de BBC Big Band Competition!!Na MYJO verlaten te hebben, komen veel mucisi elkaar weer tegen
in de FAT CHOPS Big Band, eigenlijk een soort MYJO Alumni groep
(zie ook op de FAT CHOPS pag.)

MYJO is nog steeds onafhankelijk en
stelt zich tot doel om quality-jazz te spelen,
mede ter aansporing van jongeren om zelf (jazz)muziek te spelen,
en ter bevordering van jazzmuziek in big bandsEng:
MYJO is independent: likes to play quality jazz in combination with
great solo acts, hoping to be an example for all those young and adult
jazz-music lovers, and big band lovers in particular !!
5. Mission & Jazz-Passsion

The Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra is known for high standard big band jazz.
The band considers playing jazz with its difficult contemporary jazz repertoire
most inspiring.
These 21-25 young musiciens make it swing! Be surprised by the solo qualities.This is why MYJO will prove Jazz is for adults and young people as well
MYJO would like to be an exemple for all people
who like playing and listening to (big band) music
6. Musical Director
Musical Director for many years now is John Ruddick Sr.
John has directed MYJO for 20 years and is producing the
musicians of the future:
hundreds of young people, some famous as well, have passed
through his hands.
John has a reputation as a trumpet player.
John also features in his "John Ruddick Quintet",
joins the BBC Orchestra
worked with Shirley Bassey and
joined The Syd Lawrence Orchestra for some guest performances.
John Ruddick certainly has made his contribution to the jazz developments

MYJO is opgenomen in de wereld catalogus voor big bands.
