MYJO in Deutschland
Das Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra ist zur Zeit eine der Top Big Bands
Grossbrittaniens. Ihr Ruf beruht auf einer gleichbleibend hoher
Qualitaet Ihrer Auftritte, auf der Begeisterungsfaeigkeit, die sich auf
die Zuhoerer uebertraegt.
Diese Eigenschaften haben auch dazu
beigetragen, den Wettbewerb der BBC nicht weniger
als neunmahl zu
gewinnen.
In 1989 wurde das MYJO zum weltberuehmten Montreux Jazz Festival
eingeladen.
Im folgenden Jahr trat die Band in der UdSSR auf, wo sie ueber das
Staatsfernsehen vermutlich ueber 200 Millionen Zuhoerer hatte.
In 1992 erhielt
das MYJO eine Einladung der Jazz Educator
Convention nach Miami und gewann die
Auszeichnung
"Outstanding Service to Jazz Education".
In 1995 hat das
MYJO viele nationale Publicitaet in die Niederlande
bekommen. In 2000 is es das MYJO gelungen das hollaendische
"Nationaal Big Band Concours" zu gewinnen!
Und im Jahre 2000 kommt das Orchester auch wieder nach Deutschland,
in August, nach Bad Arolsen (Jazz Festival).
In Holland wird das MYJO auch noch zweimahl auftritten: in Delft
(Jazz Festival) und in Amsterdam (SAIL-2000)
